Karen Tuffs FCICM (Grad) – Head of Accreditation

Since my first credit controller role 34 years ago, the world of credit management has enriched my life far beyond my expectations! Our profession continues to evolve, gaining the recognition it deserves and it is a joy to be part of it.

I enjoyed 26 years within the UK manufacturing industry in an organisation that grew to become a FTSE 100 company. For the last 7 years I have worked for the medical devices sector of Johnson & Johnson (J&J), adapting to the different corporate culture of a large, global US owned company.

I have been fortunate to work with many different types of teams and locations, including in a tiny, rundown portacabin in a paper mill and a swanky, brand new Shared Service Centre with a grass roof! I take a keen interest in development and had the privilege of launching the J&J/CICM study and training program 4 years ago.

Outside of work, I like to spend my time being as active as possible. I particularly enjoy walking and road biking although I do take to the spin bike in inclement weather! I am a member of my local Rock Choir, despite my family saying I can’t sing. It must be a case of “safety in numbers”!

Being appointed as Head of Accreditation at CICM, my professional body for my entire career, is a dream come true. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues and clients, continuing to wave the flag for the best career in the world!

Luke Sculthorp FCICM – Head of strategic relationships

I am joining the team from United Utilities plc, after building an effective and successful billing and collections shared service centre working across all non-retail commercial debt ledgers.

Post University, in summary my career started in retail banking with Northern Rock plc, experiencing first-hand the credit crunch of 2008, I subsequently moved into the credit services sector, joining a trade body representing debt collection, where my passion for learning was cultivated. From then on, I have been associated with the credit industry until today.

I am a surf loving Cornishman who finds himself living in West Yorkshire, enjoying the beautiful Heathcliff countryside, yet missing the Polzeath beach sand on my feet!

I’m a keen Cricketer, having represented senior teams across Cornwall, Devon, Yorkshire & Northumberland, as well as a lifelong Plymouth Argyle F.C. supporter and subsequent ‘Ginsters Pasty fan’.

I am delighted to be joining the team and helping heighten professionalism across all domestic and international credit markets.

Chris Brooks, Head of Strategic Finance

Chris has held several senior roles, and has significant experience at Board and Committee level, more recently in public bodies working with members, directors and wider stakeholders to deliver strategy whilst meeting regulatory requirements in complex systems.  Chris most recently held the role of Chair of the Audit Committee for Peterborough City Council.  His experience spans 10 years in practice (PWC), 15 years in the private sector, and 10 years in the public sector.

Robert Norman, Head of Project Delivery

I have 25 years of experience covering various Project Management, Account Management & Service Delivery roles across Public and Private Industry sectors. I have a proven track record of leading organisations in the design, delivery and governance of end-to-end digital transformation changes to create efficiencies for in-house teams and provide a great customer experience to attract and maintain members.   I have also held various voluntary roles within education and local community-shared services.
