Are Credit Professionals Ready for 2021 New Way of Working?

11 March @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

CICM EAST OF ENGLAND BRANCH WEBINAR 11TH MARCH 2021

ARE CREDIT PROFESSIONALS READY FOR 2021 NEW WAY OF WORKING?

Our excellent and knowledgeable speaker  Chris Sanders, FCICM, of Chris Sanders Consulting and Head of CICMQ Accreditation, is well known in the credit industry with over 30 years experience in credit management, billing, operations and business transformation.

In our remarkably well attended interactive webinar for credit professional at all levels, Chris gave an insight into the findings of his regular CICMQ “Elevenses” best practice sessions, and from his dialogues with organisations over the last year. He asked what sort of credit professional are you – analogue or digital, what does 2025 look like, and what needs to change, now before then?

In his presentation Chris classified four different types of credit control teams – Contract Killer (proud to be a Rottweiler and likes to say “no”), Coaster (cash rich company, stable, no pressure to change), Negotiators (engaging with sales and looking at improving within, but not really creating a credit aware organisation) and Thought Leaders (likely to cover both AR and AP and looking at new ways of doing things).

He discussed robotic process automation, the need to change disaster recovery plans after Covid, remote versus office working, health and well being, resilience of cash and supply chains, app based tools, moving AR and AP closer together, nurturing a high performing team, and much more.

Taking and answering questions throughout, Chris emphasised the importance of how you look on Zoom, that knowledge shared is knowledge doubled, and stressed the need for credit managers to take the lead and start planning now, reviewing roles and responsibilities for the new world, He outlined five items that should be on the top of your list for 2021.
