ICM announces icm10 Awards shortlist

25 January 2010

The Institute of Credit Management (ICM) has announced the shortlist for the prestigious icm10 Awards, which reward the highest levels of professionalism across the credit management industry. The winners will be revealed at the icm10 Gala Awards Dinner, which is to be held at the Royal Courts of Justice, London on Tuesday 16 March 2010.

The icm10 Awards are the most rigorously judged Awards in the credit management industry, with all nominations judged anonymously. Prizes are awarded in ten categories, including The Performance Improvement Award, Developing the Team Award, Fraud Prevention of the Year and Newcomer of The Year Award. There is also the Sir Roger Cork prize for the affiliate who achieved the highest aggregate examination marks in 2009.

For the Credit Personality of the Year award, recognising the nominee’s contribution through charitable efforts or significant personal achievement, the judges have shortlisted Kim Caldwell of BUPA, Nilesh Patel of BT and Claire Sandbrook of Shergroup.

There are five nominees shortlisted in the Unsung Hero of the Year Award category, which rewards the efforts of those who have made a significant contribution to their business, leading to tangible improvements as a direct result of their actions, and whose contribution might otherwise have passed unnoticed. Mumtaz Parkar of BT Retail Collections, Phil Embley and Stuart Edwards of BT, Deb Henderson and Linda King of Veolia Environmental Services are all in contention for the prize.

Meanwhile, Martin Kirby of BUPA, Linda Jones of Hewden and Julie Harris of Geopost will battle it out for the ultimate accolade, the Credit Professional of the Year Award, given for exceptional performance and achievement.

“Once again the standard of the nominees has been extremely high,” says Chief Executive of the ICM, Philip King. “This is true testament to the levels of professionalism and dedication of individuals and teams across the credit management profession, and we wish all those shortlisted the best of luck at the Awards Dinner in March.”

The Gala Awards Dinner is one of the highlights of the credit management industry calendar and is attended by over 400 senior members of the credit management industry.
