ICM British Credit Awards – Winners Announced

Cheryl Horstead of BT scooped the prize for Credit Professional of the Year at the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) British Credit Awards last night, the Judges agreeing that ‘she stood out head and shoulders above the rest for her passion and drive for excellence.’

Cheryl was one of 17 winners at the awards, held at The Brewery in London, which are designed to recognise and celebrate excellence in credit management. The winners included:

In terms of other prizes for individuals Lewis Birnie of RWE npower was named Credit Controller of the Year, in what the Judges described was ‘probably the closest and most hard-fought of all of the categories’. Lewis, however, was identified as a rising star, the judges agreeing ‘he is the ideal role model for the credit management profession.’ Anna Cantwell of Aggregate Industries was named Newcomer of the Year, the Judges commending ‘an excellent start from a true newcomer to the industry who has demonstrated a tremendous attitude and drive in making credit management her profession and career’. Philip King, Chief Executive of the ICM said that the judges reviewed some incredible entries and had a very difficult job in selecting a winner for each category: “Make no mistake though, everyone shortlisted for the ICM British Credit Awards is a winner and, whether they left the event with a trophy or not, they should be proud and recognise how well they have done.” The awards evening, which was attended by more than 450 guests, was organised by the ICM in association with Incisive Media.
