1st European Forum on Payment Culture – European Parliament

Building a stronger European payment culture to protect cash flow, support businesses and boost competitiveness.

CICM members are invited to join credit professionals from across Europe at the 1st European Forum on Payment Culture. FECMA, the Federation of European Credit Management Associations, is hosting it at the European Parliament in Brussels on Monday 25 January 2027, at the invitation of Peter Agius, MEP for Malta. You can take part in person or online.

Late payment, pressure on cash flow and rising insolvencies are hitting businesses across Europe, and SMEs are feeling it most. This first Forum brings together European institutions, national credit management associations, businesses and experts to compare practices and push for a stronger payment culture across Europe. If your business trades with European customers or suppliers, these discussions will shape how you get paid.

The afternoon is built around three 45-minute roundtables, each with moderated discussion and audience Q&A. They cover payment delays and payment terms; e-invoicing, transparency and the security of financial flows; and insolvencies, financing and business resilience. FECMA will announce the full programme and speakers shortly.

This is a FECMA event, so FECMA handles registration, not CICM. When you register, select CICM as your national association and choose whether you'll attend in person or online. FECMA will send registered participants practical information about getting into the European Parliament and joining online. The event will be held in English.
