This entry-level grade is perfect for individuals new to the credit profession or those looking to explore the industry before committing to a professional pathway. Essentials members get limited access to key resources, tools and insights designed to build confidence and capability at the start of their credit career or are interested in learning more about what CICM has to offer.
While Essentials membership does not offer the full benefits of full membership, it provides a solid foundation for professional development and is the ideal first step before progressing to one of our recognised grades (Studying, Affiliate, Associate, Member or Fellow).
As a commitment to supporting your journey, if you decide to upgrade from Essentials to a full CICM membership within the same membership year, we’ll refund your £35 Essentials fee making it even easier to take the next step when you're ready.

If you want to study for a CICM Qualification, regardless of where you are at in your Credit Management Career, or maybe you are new to the career and looking to grow your knowledge, this grade is for you.

To gain access to Studying Member you must be studying with CICM now, or planning to in the next year. You have either:

This grade is open to all who apply. You will get access to all of the benefits that put our membership users ahead in the Credit industry.
However, if you wish to have advanced recognition of skills and knowledge that better represents you in your career, then our professional grades (Associate, Member and Fellow) will grant you professional letters that are desired by employers.
Annual Fee: £194 or Direct Debit £16.67 per month
Associate membership is for individuals working in, supporting, or developing a career in credit management, collections, insolvency, litigation and or enforcement. This level typically includes those in operational or developing roles, such as Credit Analyst, Credit Controller, Collections Agent, Insolvency / Litigation Administrator and Enforcement Agent.
Upon completion of a CICM Level 3 Diploma you will be eligible to become an ACICM(Dip).
Annual Fee: £238 or Direct Debit £19.83 per month
This level typically includes those working in supervisory / senior level roles, such as Credit Manager, Senior Credit Analyst, Collections Manager, Recoveries Manager, Insolvency Practionier and Enforcement Manager
To apply, you will need to fulfil our criteria for evidence.
Upon completion of a CICM Level 5 Diploma you will be eligible to become a MCICM(Grad) if you have achieved, in addition, either a CICM Level 3 Diploma or professional membership (MCICM) or fellowship (FCICM) through the membership experience assessment route.
Annual Fee: £295 or Direct Debit Fee £24.58 per month
Fellow's evidence of developing, delivering and implementing wide-reaching and long-term credit strategies and can evidence the impact of this strategy through evaluation of business outputs such as business metrics and financial measures and can evidence examples such as advising the organisation on all aspects of credit/risk management, leading credit-related projects, developing and implementing a quality scorecard, monitoring the organisation’s overall credit/collections performance.
