At CICM, there are no restrictions on when you can take your CICM online exams though your tutor may recommend specific assessment dates – you can select any time in the year, 24 hours/7 days a week.

You need to be registered with CICM and request a candidate number in order to log into Pearson.

Who to contact if you have an issue with booking your exam

Online exams are held externally. If you have an issue with making your booking, you should contact Pearson.

What if I fail my exam?

If you do not achieve a pass grade in your exam, you can re-book your exam within a few days. However, you cannot re-sit sooner than 14 days from the date of your previous attempt.

How to collect your exam results

If you have taken your exam at home, log back into Pearson to retrieve your result within 30 minutes of taking your exam.

If you have taken your exam at a test centre, collect results at the exam centre admin desk or log back into your Pearson account to retrieve these.

Results are physically posted within 7 working days after the exam has been taken. Also, please note that we cannot provide online or digital copies of certificates.

Please note – With effect from 26^th June 2026, Pearson Vue test centres have introduced Security Scanning. All candidates at PPCs must be scanned during check-in. This does not apply to third party test centres at this time. Those with medical or religious reasons may seek a waiver, please contact [email protected].

An initial six-month transition period will allow candidates to arrive at the test centre unaware of this new policy and refuse to be scanned for medical or religious reasons, the Test Administrator will create a case documenting this and will allow the candidate to test. After the six-month transition period (approximately October 2026), Pearson Vue will fully enforce the waiver policy, and you will need to ensure you contact CICM for a waiver prior to your exam.

The security scanning is to combat unauthorised electronic devices. They are strictly prohibited inside the testing area. Unauthorised devices must be turned off and stored in the designated locker area before the self pat-down and scanning process begins. If any unauthorised electronic device is found once the self pat-down process has begun, Pearson will ask you to leave and you may forfeit any exam fees paid.
